This workshop will give you the tools and ideas you’ll need to start exploring natural spaces with your students. This kit has the building blocks for outdoor lessons in science, physical education, art, math and language arts for K-3. Participants will receive a full teacher guide, and other equipment/material and resources for FREE and we will also show you how to use all the equipment & facilitate meaningful curriculum-connected activities.

So many kids need help - where do you possibly start? Tracey will help guide you through the process, starting with easy diagnostic assessments then how to use that data to set up simple treatment plans for your small groups (Tier 2 or 3). Suggestions for resource materials, timelines, progress monitoring tips, and time management will be explored. Handouts for this session will be available at https://mackjacklearning.ca/academy/ (under "Workshop Handouts"). NOTE: The first part of this session will be for information and the second part will be for questions and demonstrations (if time.)

Lisa has a passion for sharing her experiences as an amputee, overcoming adversity and breaking down stereotypes around disability. Using humor and engaging her audience in open conversation, Lisa’s presentation is like no other! Educating teachers on disability and providing a safe space of open discussion is important. She loves to keep her presentation interactive; allowing everyone the chance to pass around her prosthetic sport leg and “ask anything.”

Ever have a student complain they don't know what to write? This PD session will give you the tools and tips to inspire even the most reluctant writer to fill the page with story ideas. Marty shares easy-to-follow strategies that help students conquer the blank page. He reveals primers that teachers can use to encourage kids to brainstorm story ideas, create characters, develop conflict and write engaging stories. He'll share a half-dozen writing project ideas that teachers can use in their classrooms.
