Welcome to GETCA 2025! We are excited to see you soon...
Thursday February 27, 2025 2:20pm - 3:20pm MST
This session will engage participants in a variety of hands-on experiments with multimodal collage in the language arts classroom. Drawing inspiration from such disparate sources as Henri Matisse (Painting with Scissors), Pauline Oliveros (Deep Listening), and William Burroughs (The Cut Up Method), we will collectively create characters, stories, and story-environments (worlds) by leaning into the unexpected and accidental possibilities of collage. Though focused on the curricular context of secondary classrooms, teachers from all levels may find this workshop useful for their classroom practice.
