About me
Finnian Burnett holds a doctoral degree in English Pedagogy, with a specific emphasis on using story-based education to create equity in multicultural classrooms. Their novella-in-flash, The Clothes Make the Man, shortlisted for the Bath novella-in-flash awards and was published by Ad Hoc Fiction. Their most recent collection, The Price of Cookies, is available through Off Topic Publishing. Finnian is a recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts grant, a finalist in the 2023 CBC nonfiction prize, and a 2024 Pushcart Nominee. They have workshops and presentations available or forthcoming through the Alexandra Writers Centre Society, Crow Collective, the Surrey International Writing Festival, and more. Finnian is currently working on an epistolary novel about a trans man trying to reconcile a complex relationship with his dead mother.
