About me
After 33 years, I continue to serve students as a principal with Edmonton Public Schools. Currently, I am the proud principal of S. Bruce Smith School, an Edmonton Public School junior high school serving 622 grade 7 to 9 students, 40 staff and housing a number of specialized programs including Academic Enrichment, Strategies, Opportunity and an Interactions program, which opened this school year. It's a busy place that has spirit and believes in student agency.
Over my career, I have had the privilege of serving eight school communities as a teacher, assistant principal and principal. I also served principals and Division leaders as a Staff Relations Supervisor in our Division's Human Resources. I have a BEd, MEd in Educational Administration and Leadership, and a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Human Resources Management. This year, I am grateful and honoured to serve as a Member at Large with the ATA’s Council for School Leadership.
