About me
A certified teacher and designer, I have been working as an instructor and seamstress in some sort of capacity since I was 19 yrs old. Out of high school I attended Yvonne Yuen School of Design in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, earned my diploma in Fashion Design and was invited to teach pattern making to first year students while I completed my second year. Through this experience I discovered that I loved teaching and so I changed my path and decided to pursue my Bachelor of Education specializing in Home Economics. I never expected to pursue a university degree, but I am proud to say that I have been successfully teaching High School Fashion Studies and a few other things for the past 20 years. I have recently started my own business called The Sewing Lab, where I hope to continue fostering a love of sewing in my community and support teachers through professional development opportunities that are focused on the Alberta Fashion Studies Curriculum.
