About me
Victoria Reid is currently the ATA Fine Arts Council Dance Representative. She spent the past 7 years teaching at Archbishop Jordan High School (ABJ) in the department of Fine Arts instructing dance, drama, and musical theatre. Victoria has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, with a major in Drama and minor in Mathematics from the University of Alberta. She is the founder and director of the ABJ Dance Collective, a program with over 80 students teaching the locally developed curriculum, Dance 15-25-35. She was the movement director and choreographer for all ABJ mainstage musical performances for the past 7 years. Victoria has also been the ABJ Improv coach for the past 6 years and has coached numerous teams through Rapid Fire Theatre's student competition, NAIL. She has been a dancer for over 20 years in both the Calgary and Edmonton area and has trained in a variety of genres such as ballet, pointe, character, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary and modern. She has also been a dance instructor and contracted theatre choreographer for over 10 years in the local Edmonton area. Not only does she have a deep love for fine arts, theatre and dance and has been a part of many productions and plays, she has also won numerous performance and teaching awards and scholarships. She has also completed her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet exams up to the qualified teaching level and is currently embarking on a Master of Arts in Dance Education.
